Hi, I’m Sara Miller

I am a licensed clinical social worker and approved clinical supervisor in Washington state, with over two decades of experience supporting individuals, families, and professionals across complex systems of care. My work is grounded in a deep commitment to reflective practice, trauma-informed healing, and the ongoing development of clinicians at all stages of their careers.

I came to social work in the late 1990s through hands-on volunteer work in HIV/AIDS community support and hospice care. These early experiences—working alongside individuals facing life-limiting illness, including those who were incarcerated—shaped my enduring belief in the importance of dignity, presence, and relationship in clinical practice.

For the past 18 years, I have worked extensively in child welfare, a field that continues to inform and inspire my clinical lens. My current work focuses on creating reflective, growth-oriented spaces that prioritize learning, emotional regulation, and clinical curiosity over compliance. I am particularly passionate about helping clinicians navigate complex cases, develop their clinical voice, and build sustainable, values-driven practices.

Licensed in the state of Washington since 2014 and an approved clinical supervisor since 2017, I maintain a strong commitment to ongoing education and mentorship. I am especially dedicated to increasing access to high-quality supervision for clinicians who have historically had limited access to supervisors of color.

As a supervisor, I bring a relational, thoughtful, and collaborative approach. I believe supervision should be a space where clinicians feel supported, challenged, and empowered to grow—both professionally and personally. My style integrates trauma-informed principles, reflective supervision practices, and a strong emphasis on equity and cultural responsiveness.

In addition to my professional work, I am a transracial and transnational adoptee from Vietnam, this identity informs my perspective and deepens my commitment to identity-conscious practice.

I live in Seattle, Washington with my family where I enjoys the outdoorss, cooking, reading, and volunteering.
